How Garlic interacts with Antihyperlipidemic medications

Studies have reported that garlic may lower cholesterol levels which may alter the effects of these medications and possibly the dose needed for treatment. Use with caution. (1) (2)

These drugs include atorvastatin, fluvastatin, lovastatin, pravastatin, simvastatin, cholestyramine, colestipol, colesevelam, gemfibrozil, fenofibrate, clofibrate, niacin (nicotinic acid)
