Abstract

Cancer is a disease documented throughout the history of medicine for it’s potentially life threatening nature, the wide range of possible complications and its tendency to spread and recur. Global research is focused on developing efficient, cost effective and reliable management strategies for the same. Arresting the disease pathology as well as effective eradication are the 2 primary objectives of treatment. Adding Quantity and Quality to the life of a Cancer patient are the 2 essential hallmarks of a successful management strategy. Scholars are interested in understanding the potential benefits of Non-allopathic approaches to Cancer management. Ayurveda is one of the primary systems of organized medicine practiced primarily in India and the Asian subcontinent. Recently, it has flourished in most parts of the world. The talk will focus on the Ayurvedic understanding of Etiology of Cancer, the Classical Management strategies as well as share recent experiences of the same.
