Abstract

The role of local species of plants in the practice of traditional medicine among the Temuan tribe is presented. This study was conducted at Ulu Langat in the state of Selangor. Traditional medicine as practiced by the Temuan can be divided into two aspects. The first aspect involves the usage of plant materials incorporated together with rituals involving belief in spirits. The second aspect is the usage of medicinal plants without association with belief in spirits. Various species of medicinal plants and their uses are presented.
