Abstract

Cerbera odollam leaf extract was not dramatically toxic in mice. It stimulated cardiac performances in anaesthetized dogs. The main active principle, deacetyltanghinin, less cardiotoxic than digoxin potentialised the biosynthesis of  prostacyclin (PGI2,) by cardiac tissue.
