Abstract

Smilax myosotifolia (Smilacaceae), a local plant used in various traditional formulation as a general tonic and treatment for syphilis. So far there has been no report on this plant. The identification and quality parameters were established for single powder and formulated preparations found commercially involving microscopical and thin layer chromatographic methods. The findings are presented in this paper.
