Interaction type: Interactions

Interaction rating: Potential/Theoritical

Hyperkalemia is a potential side effect of these medications. Intravenous arginine infusions, which are used diagnostically to test for growth hormone deficiency and therapeutically for treatment of metabolic alkalosis, may cause hyperkalemia. Therefore, arginine infusions should be used with caution with individuals who are on ACE inhibitors. (1) (2)
