Sub-region: Northern Africa

Northern Africa refers the northernmost region of the African continent, linked by the Sahara to Sub-Saharan Africa. Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Sudan, Tunisia, and Western Sahara are the seven countries that constitute North Africa. Egypt had been Malaysia’s biggest exporter of herbal raw materials from this region while Morocco produced about 123,000 kg of seeds of coriander, other spices and essential oils. Other countries produced insignificant amounts of herbal raw materials due to their weather and physical conditions.
