Abstract

Ficus deltoidea or mas cotek is well known as a traditional herbal plant in Peninsular Malaysia and the Borneo Island. The decoction of the leaves is used as after birth treatment and to treat leucorrhea disease. The study of the chemical constituent of this plant is not available. However, in this paper we report the isolation of a hopanoid compound from the methanol leaf extract of F. deltoidea. The structure elucidation of the compound was carried out using nucleus magnetic resonance spectrometer as well as mass spectrometer data.
