Based on pharmacology: Animal studies have reported that constituents contained in passionflower vine may cause sedation which may alter the effects of these medications and possibly the dose needed for treatment. Use with caution. (1) These drugs include fluoxetine, fluvoxamine, paroxetine, sertraline, amitriptyline, amoxapine, clomipramine, desipramine, doxepin, imipramine, nortriptyline, trimipramine, maprotiline, mirtazapine, trazodone, bupropion, venlafaxine, nefazodone, citalopram, protriptyline, phenelzine, tranylcypromine, isocarboxazid.
