A study reported that women taking low-dose oral contraceptives had a slight but significant reduction in serum selenium concentrations compared to women not on oral contraceptive therapy. Supplementation with the affected nutrient may be necessary. (1) These drugs include norethindrone, ethynodiol diacetate, norgestrel, norgestimate, ethinyl estradiol, drospirenone, desogestrel, levonorgestrel.
