Interaction type:
Interactions

Interaction rating:
Potential/Theoritical

The bile acid sequestrants have been reported to inhibit the absorption of cholesterol and other fat-soluble nutrients. Therefore, these drugs are likely to also inhibit the intestinal absorption of dietary omega-3. Supplementation with the affected nutrient may be necessary.(1) (2) These drugs include cholestyramine, colestipol, colesevelam.
