2.3.21.2 Analysis
Ginseng roots are noted for its haemostatic function and also act as anti-oxidant agent. Within the observed period it was imported in relatively large volumes ranging from over 16 million kg per in year 2000 to almost 20 million kg in year 2007. In the first 4 years, the total value of imported product decreased but the following years saw a general increase in total value of purchases. The unit cost per kg of the product were varied during the observed period until 2006, after which it increased to its highest value in year 2007.
