3.6.32.2 Analysis
There were no declarations of the amounts of the product exported for the years 2000, 2004 and 2007 from the Royal Customs Division. From the available data, quantities of Essential oils of lavender exported indicated a single peak with the initial years showing increasing amounts and decreased after year 2003. Revenues obtained from export did not reflect the quantities exported. The revenue profile was erratic and that it peaked in years 2003 and 2006 with amounts of RM15,709 and RM12,765 respectively. Profile for unit costs of the product was also inconsistent and it ranged from about RM7.80 to RM73.20.
Except for years 2001 and 2006, the differences between unit costs of export and import values showed negative figures indicating that the imported products were mostly consumed locally. The raw materials were utilized in the manufacture of consummable items.
