3.6.34.2 Analysis
Essential oils of other mints are produced for its aroma and they have medicinal application such as in the treatment of bronchial asthma. The quantities of product exported were fairly small and data for years 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2007 were not available. Costs of the product were fairly high, it and the demands were low. At the initial period, the amount of product exported was only 25 kg and decreased further thereafter until year 2006 when the quantitiy increased to 331 kg. The revenues obtained were small ranging from RM154 to RM18,359. The costs per kg of product, ranged from RM55.47 at the minimum to RM308 at the maximum.
Export-import unit cost differences showed negative values throughout the period except for year 2000. These negative figures indicated that most of the products were utilized locally.
