Geographical Distributions
The distribution of Fissistigma latifolium is Indo-China, Thailand, Peninsular Malaysia, Singapore, Java, Borneo and the Philippines; possibly also Sumatra.
Description
F. latifolium large liana can grow up to measure 20 m long.
The leaves are oblong, obovate or oblong-lance-shaped and with a size of measuring 8-35 cm x 3.5-15 cm. The rusty brown hairy leaves are with distinct tertiary venation below. The outer orange petals are measure 1-3 cm long.
The monocarp is oblong or nearly spherical in shape, measuring about 2-5 cm long and with stalk that up to measure 4 cm long.
Ecology / Cultivation
F. latifolium is locally very common, e.g. in lowland forest in Peninsular Malaysia; in Java it occurs in forest up to 1200 m altitude.
