Based on pharmacology: An in vitro study reported that constituents contained in lemon balm have thyroid receptor binding activity which may alter the effects of these medications and possibly the dose needed for treatment. Use with caution. (1) These drugs include thyroid desiccated, levothyroxine sodium, liothyronine sodium, liotrix, iodine products.
