3.6.3.2 Analysis
The profile for quantities of the product exported was inconsistent and the values streched from 50,285 kg to 135,257 kg during the observed period of year 2000 to 2007. Export revenues which ranged from RM484,460 to RM1,25,1074 million did not follow the trend for the quantities exported. The cost per kg of product was also high compared to that of garlic. and the cost per unit kg of product started from RM7.88 to RM12.58. The profile for these costs was undulating indicating unstable demand for the product.
Trading in cinnamon,crushed or ground was also an entreport trade. Since the product finds many applications in industry, differences in prices per unit kg of product between export values and import values resulted in better profits from RM2.13 to RM10.30 per kg. There was only one year when the difference was in the negative, i.e in year 2005 with negative RM13.10.
