2.3.4.2 Analysis
Cloves are being used in food, especially its dried flowers. Its appeal lies in its medicinal values. Imports of this product throughout the observed period fluctuated reaching its greatest amount in year 2004 amounting to 3.632 million kg with total import values of RM43.247 million. The last 2 years of the period saw an almost constant amount of total values imported however; in 2007 the quantity began to rise. The unit price per kg of product fluctuated from RM8.71 to RM23.36.
