2.3.36.2 Analysis
Ephedrine and its salts are imported in small quantities as the cost per kg of the product was high. The quantities imported during the observed period were relatively small and did not vary to a large extent except in the year 2004, during which the quantity level jumped to a relatively high figure of 5,900 kg. The highest total value for the products was at RM587, 479 in year 2002 and the lowest being RM88, 445 in year 2000. The cost per kg of product ranged from RM186.70 to RM345, 347 and remained inconsistent throughout the years under consideration.
