2.3.13.2 Analysis
Price for ginger per unit weight had been increasing from year 2000 until year 2005, after which it started to fall . The prices ranged from RM 1.40 to RM 3.22 per kg,and it was at its highest in year 2005. Similarly, the quantity of products imported rose every yearexcept in the year 2004.
Ginger extracts are used in the preparation of health foods and tonics. Most of the imports are retailed all over the country and demand by herbal practitioners is fairly small .
