2.3.49.2 Analysis
Essential oils other than citrus have many uses such as, in perfumery, for medicinal applications and as food. They were imported in relatively large amounts throughout the period. The amounts brought into the country were not constant and the variations between each year were significant ranging from 232,959 kg to 378,953 kg. The total values for the imports peaked in year 2003 and declined to about RM7.495 million in year 2007. The cost per kg of material, though inconsistent, was moderate ranging from RM26.11 to RM64.18.
