3.6.24.2 Analysis
Other natural gums, resin, gum-resins and oleoresins are mixtures of unspecified herbal products. The products find applications in hydrocoloid emulsifier, in drinks industry and confectionary and the like rather small amounts of the products were exported during the observed period, and its export profile indicated irregularity. The maximum quantity exported was in year 2005 at 711,490 kg. The export revenues profile showed inconsistency ranging from about RM56,330 to about RM2.490 million. The costs per kg of the product displayed an undulating profile depending on the market demand. The export revenues followed similar pattern to that of the amounts exported and that the unit cost decreased towards the end of the period.
Export-import differences in cost per kg of product for the period mainly indicated positive over negative values. The export industry still faced competitive market conditions due to oversupply of materials, although, at other times supplies were insufficient.
