3.6.9.2 Analysis
Seeds of coriander are used mainly for its fresh leaves and dried seeds in cooking. They are exported in relatively large amounts to countries using spices in their food preparations. Quantities exported for each year were not consistent and their variations were not very obvious ranging from 213,535 kg in year 2001 to 830,542 kg for year 2004. Hence, the profile for the period appeared to be erratic. The annual values obtained for each year showed almost similar pattern as the quantities and its peak occured in year 2004 at about RM1.345 million. The costs per kg of export product had positive values and increased in year 2007. Its range registered from RM1.18 to RM2.08.
In the case for seeds of coriander the differences between unit cost of product for export and import showed negative values. Negative values indicated that foreign demands for the product decreased for the period.
