6.1.1.3 Sub-region: Southern Asia
Countries in Southern Asia where Malaysia’ exported its raw materials consisted of India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Maldives and Nepal in that order. Export to India represented the largest share of about 64% and to Bangladesh about 29%. The rest of the countries’ imports were less than 10% each. The main raw material exported to India was garlic, whilst Bangladesh imported cinnamon and cinnamon tree flowers crushed and not crushed. Garlic and turmeric were exported to other countries in small quantities. Refer to the Table 171 and Figure 223 for quantity and percentage share of export.
