2.3.16.2 Analysis
Thyme leaves are used as tea and flavouring. Within the observed period small quantities of the product were imported in each year, usually not exceeding 54,611 kg. The highest total value reached RM538,320 in the year 2006. When the price of the product increased to its maximum in year 2007 the demand for it decreased. The quantities imported, followed a similar trend to the changes in prices. Unit price per kg of product ranged from RM7.81 to RM16.66, reflecting the instability of the price throughout the period of analysis.
