Malay-Indonesian Traditional Medicine

Entry Requirements

For Indonesian applicants, they must have aSekolah Menengah Umum(SMU) certificate.

*At the moment international students are not admitted.

Theory/Practical

Both components (theory and practical / clinical) will be utilized throughout the course. Theory components constitute 41% and practical 59% of the course.

Learning Module

The module constitutes 45% traditional medicine and 55% conventional medicine. Subjects taught include:

  • Medical Biology, structure and function of the human anatomy
  • Traditional Medicine – including formula and extraction from natural sources
  • Physical Intervention – including massage, chiropractic, reflexology and acupuncture
  • Nutritional Therapy, diet therapy and traditional Indonesian food
  • Instrumentations for therapy and traditional medicine diagnosis

At the moment, postgraduate courses in traditional medicine are not offered

Career Opportunities

Graduates will be able to qualify as a traditional therapist who will be competent in assisting conventional medical practitioners in primary health care and or can pursue private practice in clinics / hospitals
