Entry Requirements

International Applicants:

  • Completion of high school education or equivalent
  • A good command of the Chinese language
  • Good health
  • *Entrance examination: Chinese language both written and oral.

*Applicants can be exempted from the examination if they possess a certificate in the Chinese language from universities outside China or have an undergraduate degree/diploma from a Chinese university.

**All general requirements for local students apply to foreign students as well.

Learning Outcome

On completion of course, students should be able to

  • master the basic theories, knowledge and skills of TCM;
  • utilize the concepts, skills and knowledge of Acupuncture, Moxibustion and Massage Therapy in the proper diagnosis and treatment of illnesses;
  • possess adequate knowledge of modern medical technology, basic theories of modern medicine and skills and the ability to conduct research and development in Acupuncture, Moxibustion and Massage Therapy;
  • communicate effectively in a foreign language; and
  • be knowledgeable in terms of TCM classical texts.

Courses offered include Basic Theories of TCM, TCM Diagnostics, Chinese Materia Medica, Formulas of Chinese Medicine, Human Physiology and Pathology, Classics on Acupuncture, Theory of Meridians, Theory of Acupoints, Techniques of Acupuncture and Moxibustion, Acupuncture Therapeutics, Massage Therapy,Experimental Acupuncture, Internal Medicine of TCM, Basic Western Diagnosis, Western Internal Medicine and other specialized courses.
