The college requires students to have proficiency in the English language. Applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency through the following:
- IELTS – results of 6.0 – 7.0; minimum scores in sub-tests may be required
- TOEFL – a result between 550-580 (paper based test) or 213-237 (computer based test) or 79-92 (Internet based test); minimum scores in sub-tests may be required
- ISLPR – a score of 3+ or better in all four skills

The course focuses on theoretical learning including foundation studies in Traditional Chinese Medicine which are appropriate to western health sciences, interpersonal skills, research methodology, in-depth study of clinical acupuncture and elective units on topics of special interest
