Microporus Xanthopus, polyporaceae, fungi, sterol.

The investigation of the chemical constituents of Microporus xanthopus (Basidiomycetes) showed the existence of white crystals from the extracts of light-petroleum (PCI) and methanol (PC2). The crystals were isolated by chromatography and were identified using spectroscopic analysis. The aim of this work was to find out the medicinal values of M. xanthopus since it was believed to be effective for family-planning among the orang Asli of Perak, Malaysia.
